Webcasting Public Meetings

From DoWire Wiki

Some questions are:

  1. can questions or issues be raised from the online media in a live event?
  2. what followup is reasonable after such a webcast?
    1. archive, or not?
    2. link to public participants' bios and prior comments, or not?
    3. make it possible for people to add comments after the fact, or not?
    4. transcribe into written form, or not?

A participant remarked that he has three channels of Australian Parliament on my TV (House of Representatives, Senate and Committees). He concluded that the live TV is not a lot of use as most of the time is is not very interesting. He suggests that indexed highlights would be of more use.

There was the suggestion to make town hall meetings more effective by providing on-line tools to organize them and to aid discussion during the meetings. Some Access Grid technology may also be applicable http://www.tomw.net.au/2004/enetp.html#grid&gt
