DoWire Groups are designed for peer-to-peer information exchange. Some topics lend themselves to ongoing high value exchange with little "feeding" while others require resources for recruitment and facilitation in order to generate value. In some cases, an online group should really be an "event" and active for a limited duration of a few weeks or months.

Specific DoWire Groups may be sponsored by organizations interested in the enhancing the value of a particular forum. Or organizations or companies may find value in a strategic association with a forum. With appropriate funding, private or special audience groups with extensive facilitation support may also be hosted in partnership with Democracies Online.

Sponsors will be credited on the group home page and periodically in the footer of e-mail messages sent to a group.

Groups without Sponsorship

Due to hosting and support fees for DoWire Groups, it is possible that groups without adequate sponsorship may require a nominal yearly participation fee. No fees are planned in 2006.
