Internet training for elected officials

- do these officials, or their assistants, do the bulk of the interaction?

- presuming elected officials' primary job is listening to constituents and negotiating on their behalf, how does the 'net serve those purposes?
- what should be covered in such training? what should not be covered?
- if elected officials spend more time online, do they lose face time with less online-saavy participants?
A participant thought training for their staff probably more important. He suggewsted also that this should be general computer use training (such as the ICDL).
