Introducing the e-democracy tagging system
This list is an effort at developing a common set of tags for use on social bookmarking systems like del.icio.us, spurl,or furl. If e-democracy/e-government practitioners and researchers adopt these tags in their use of social bookmarking systems, it will greatly improve our capacity for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Bloggers can use the same keywords as categories for their blog posts. If your blogging software supports tagging (see Technorati's explanation, using these keywords as blog categories will automatically tag your entries with the appropriate tags, so that your posts show up in the Technorati pages for topics like e-democracy or e-government.
And please note that you can assign multiple tags to any one bookmark or blog post.

Help us make a list of standard tags. List the proposed tags and tag scope definitions below. After we have a long list, we can debate and shape the list.

- e-advocacy -- use of ICT in an issue or interest group campaign.
- e-campaigning -- use of ICT in an electoral campaign, referendum, or public sector ballot initiative open to all citizens.
- e-consultation -- use of ICT for public consultation, public dialogue, or structured public engagement, whether in the public, private or NGO sector.
- e-deliberation - the use of ICT for for democratic deliberation. Also known as "online deliberation".
- e-democracy - The use of ICT in the broadly defined concept of democracy.
- e-government - Use of ICT in government, including government services, electronic access to information, etc.
- e-politics -- use of ICT political contests, campaigns, debates, etc. Includes e-campaiging but goes beyond it to encompass discussion or comparision multiple campaigns, strategies, and non-campaign applications.
