BP Honorariums

From DoWire Wiki

As an accepted member of Best Practices Leadership Team (see Submissions, you may also volunteer to lead the drafting of a Brief or a full Case Study via this public wiki. You aren't allowed to hide in a room somewhere and simply say, "Here is my final draft." This is a collaborative effort.

Selected topics relevant to *e-democracy* in local government/governance (not e-government services for example) are eligible for small honorariums if approved prior to starting work (first come, first serve). However, any e-democracy topic can be shared as a Brief on the wiki.

Briefs

While Team members should create wiki accounts as detailed in our get started page, anyone will be able to comment or edit draft Briefs until such time that we have trouble with "graffiti." Don't worry, we have copies of past versions and an ability to compare drafts.

We've drafted our long Briefs List and issues a list of priority briefs. We issued our first call on our internal Team e-list for those willing to complete a final Brief draft by January 7, 2004. Yes, this is quick.

Those requesting a lead editor position with a particular Brief will be confirmed within one or two business days. The honorarium is 50 GBP or about $90 US. It will only be paid via PayPal in U.S. dollars once the Brief is accepted in final draft form by Steven Clift.

Case Studies

Up to 12 full case studies will be commissioned for up to 250 GBP each (~ $425 US). Stay tuned for the full requirements.

Non-Honorarium Contributions Encouraged

Our very stringent local e-democracy scope limitation on those contribution eligible to receive an honorarium does not limit additional sections of the wiki open to articles on e-advocacy, e-politics, etc. Watch the main page for future paths for the compilation of diverse e-democracy knowledge from across the democratic sectors (government, parliaments, media, political parties, activism and advocacy, elections and campaigns, etc.).

Also, if you work in government or cannot accept an honorarium, you can still become a lead editor for a Brief or Case Studies.
